People should always be given the opportunity to apologise and then given a second chance. If he has truly apologised, done the diversity programme etc. then I think he deserves the past to be forgotten and lets all move on. I will support him unless there are future issues, then that would be a different matter.
The views he’s expressed privately obviously reflect what he thinks imo. I respect that he has publicly taken steps to address what happened but if you were a female agent, Jewish, gay or black would you not have your reservations about what he actually thought about you or the views or jokes he makes to others privately.
It’s just my opinion - it looks likely he’ll be appointed
Re Neilson someone asked how would he do in Championship in England. Personally I think he was unlucky at MK and could do alright.
I actually thought we had a decent team in place with Neilson and Gordon Forest
I honestly think its all been blown out of proportion anyway. Said it a few times now. He's one of many candidates it would appear. If he has applied and we just flat-out refused him, we are burning a bridge with the leader of the Scottish youth football system. I'll be surprised if he is appointed and I think anyone who think its 'close to being done' isnt grasping how the recruitment process is working for us. Apparently on the bbc show today Kheredine Idesanne (spelling?) said he is just one of many people in the frame. Still more people to be interviewed too. It cant make it close to being a done deal if this is the case?
The world is about rehabilitating and retraining these days. There was a few posts not so long ago about how you can't just sack useless c*nts in the workplace anymore, you have to retrain them. So we should surely be practicing what we preach. There's no point rehabilitating someone but still holding whatever it is they did, against them.
