My main worry is to go for the calibre of managers we have been linked with(English Championship and Premier League) and ending up with Austin MacPhee.

Its going from one extreme to the other and honestly its far too risky.I am not in the slightest bit bothered its not McLaren but its got to be either Mackay or Wright rather than ANYONE with no experience.

MacPhee is going to Northern Ireland with Baraclough mate.

A bit gutted that McLaren has knocked us back.

I can understand your disappointment mate but i honestly think that Mackay is the hungriest potential manager on our list.He is still fairly young and is desperate to rebuild his career and reputation.

He must be bored seek sitting behind a desk on Hampden's sixth floor,willing to accept a six figure pay cut back's that up.

I should add that it says in there if he gets the Utd job then it will be revisited... but still. So many better options out there than MacPhee.

Around £3,000 a week for a guy who is probably used to 10x that at least. Not surprising.

I wonder whether it was finance - if so what was the gap? Maybe it was other factors. Would love to know. Disaoppointing but considering all the failures on McClaren's recent CV who knows we may have just dodged a bullet.

I cannot for the life of me work out why he even got interviewed mate and that's my worry.Not enough money for McLaren,perhaps not wanting to pay compensation for Mackay and then there is cheap option left of the 3 interviewees.

In a matter of days we could end up flirting with the top 6 or relegation.Its ***** its an experienced manager.
