The exact reason it might turn out to be the best appointment OA. Comes in without all the fanfare of SM or the other MM, but seems to be very experienced and technically very sound. Has a successful track record and fits the club ethos with his strong leaning towards youth development. I'll be happy with this for more than one reason.

If the boy was English & had no link to this country at all, I could maybe see the whole Scottish football thing. But he's born and bred Paisley. I'm sure he'll still keep in touch with what's going on up here. He only has 11 other teams to suss out. It's not rocket science. What knowledge of Scottish football, or even management for that matter, did Robinson, Wright, Gerrard etc have before they managed here? Not much.

My attitude now is just don't appoint any of the Riccarton coaching staff and make sure he is experienced with a decent track record.

Wasn’t sure about appointing him, mainly because I seen Tranmere's current position in the league and was concerned however I didn’t know he had achieved back to back promotions.. A lot of Tranmere fans sad to see him go and one saying that, “he’s a great manager but doesn’t like to spend money“

Uch come on mate, all the apologies and 'rehabilitation' are because the guy knows he f@cked up and got caught. At the end of the day people say things because they believe them. It's nothing to do with being an angel, I simply don't want a guy with views like that representing my club.
