Rhodes still has a year on his contract and so doubt he will get let do free.

Chris Martin has turned down a contract extension from Derby so I'd say he was more likely (of these two) but would be on too much for us unless he took a massive cut

We do seem to have a decent relationship with Derby these days:
Helping develop Max Lowe worked for them.
Getting Shinnie worked for them.
Us getting Bryson worked for them.

There does seem to be a pattern there, just can’t quite figure it out myself.

I don’t see why either Rhodes or Martin would have any interest in coming to Aberdeen. Yes they’ve made appearances for Scotland but I don’t think either of them are even Scottish and they’ve never played up here. Both of them aren’t quite over the hill yet and could likely continue playing in the championship Or league 1 earning much more money. I’d be surprised if either of them signed for us. My guess is it’ll be someone who’s played for wales or Northern Ireland a couple of times about 10 years ago - that “type” of international.

If Cosgrove goes then add Chris Martin to the list of strikers I don’t want at Pittodrie. Rhodes would be more interesting and have a better goals return out of the two of them.
