    OT Saint-Quentin

Why is Rotherham twinned with this historic town on the Somme that was pretty much destroyed during WW1?

    What does it mean?

Are there officials from each town that visit each other ceremonially?

Has anyone from here ever been there?

What is the cultural point of this twinning?

I think our school had some exchange students from there, I can remember them going to Meadowhall.

It didn’t happen until 1990. I’d left school a year by then.

They're also twinned with Kaiserslautern and a town 30 miles outside Madrid so I'm guessing Rotherham is not top choice for their exchange students now, especially since the grooming scandal, French parents won't want to send their children here.
