Couldn’t agree new terms! Assume we only offered 1yr and he wanted more?

Who knows what his demands are or were all we know is dcfc stuck to their guns and left the ball in Martin's court, they've basically said good luck for the future but if it doesn't work out(finding a club) then the door is always open for a return but under the same terms as they stand now
Are football players just being too greedy even when they know the club our club and most other clubs are in a financial predicament at the moment?
Without knowing the ins and outs of it, Id say yes, they are being too greedy. Especially a player who has enjoyed the benefits of a well remunerated contract for 4 years during which he has largely contributed nothing - OK due to an ailment - but the club stuck by him and this is how he rewarded that loyalty.
Still there is no player loyalty in football, and hasnt been for many years. Not sorry to see him go, was good for us for a couple of years but not convinced he represents the future.
Leaves us a striker short though! At least Martin is proven at this level, now we only have Waghorn, unproven Marriott, and a few kids.
Completely agree. Same category as Huddlestone for me. If they don’t think they owe the club something then we’re better off without them, imo.
Might be a nice house in Quarndon - very adjacent to the ‘Joiners’ - up for sale shortly. Mind you Bradley Johnson hasn’t moved yet.
Not sure Marriott is ‘unproven at this level’. Isn’t it his fitness that is unproven? Don’t think anyone doubts his ability, when he’s fit he’s the best we’ve got.

Spot on Geoff personally I'm not bothered he's fine ,good at what he does ,but if he plays it means setting the whole team up to suit his style because he can't play any other way He's never going to run the channels , or burst from the halfway line As Geoff says we owe him nothing he contributed nothing for two years .I think he's made a mistake refusing the third offer put to him ,because the money isn't there at the moment The only clubs in the Championship with money will be the relegated Prem clubs and they won't want him
Relatives in Norwich? Reminds me of the Adams family song
Your sister is your mother,
Your father is your brother,
You all shag one another,
The Norwich family
What’s odds that he ends up at Forest?
