Head coach Mark Kennedy and assistant Danny Butterfield have left relegated Macclesfield Town after rejecting contract offers from the club.

They are in court again on 9th September, HMRC petition. If in the EFL they are not allowed to sign any players until the HMRC are paid. Not sure what the National League rules are on signing players when under threat of windinup petition.

    Good grief.
Both Stevenage and Macclesfield deserved to be relegated in my opinion. Macclesfield because they have been a shambles off the field for along time. Stevenage because they were so poor on the field. 3 wins in 36 games and ten points behind Morecambe in 22nd place is simply awful.

Stevenage can count themselves very lucky. Only because Bury went out of the league do they get a reprieve. Their squad has proven its not good enough for League Two, so whether it’s just delaying the inevitable for another year only time will tell. Like many clubs they will have a challenge to sign better quality players than they have in this climate.

    Macclesfield relegated.

As they've been relegated, what happens next vis a vis Notts ?

    As things stand, nothing.

Fixture list (1st-4th tier) expected to be out by Friday so if Wigan are ultimately doomed it will be too late now to promote an extra club from the NL, 3rd tier would be playing with 23 clubs again.

In all fairness you could make a case for that. How many months did the Macc players get paid late or not at all during our relegation season, anyone know? I do remember there was talk of them striking during their last few fixtures as they were unpaid.
