They're key to keeping possession but it depends if you're playing a system that allows them. You wouldn't play players like Jorginho or Sergio Busquets (or Aborah, don't wet yourself I'm not saying he was the same level) in a 4-4-2 because it would expose them but in a 3 man midfield they will make you tick and make sure your team retains possession.

I'd imagine the main reason he worked so well for Moniz but not for the other managers was because Moniz was the only one that wanted to play that style of football, Fullarton decided attacking was a waste of time let alone trying to keep the ball and Cooper seemed to be more bothered in setting himself up for Forest Green.
You've just put up a far more convincing argument that Aborah was crap than I could manage. He worked well for Moniz????

Yeah, it wasn't that Aborah was a gutless and very limited player, it was that all his other managers didn't realise how to use him!

The way you seem to have rewritten history because of your dislike for him is a bit embarrassing at this point. There's a reason fans were chanting his name during games and Fullarton was asked more than once why he wasn't playing him, it's because he'd been one of our best players up until Fullarton arrived and fans were p*ssed off, maybe you weren't because he'd already stood on your toe by then or something but the majority of fans wanted one of our best players back in the team.

Spat out his dummy big style after Moniz was sacked. One of the few things Fullarton did right was to freeze him out. He was average under Moniz, and utter shyte under everyone else.

Even though he was happy to play for Mick Halsall and Richard Dryden (the caretakers) after Moniz was sacked sure, he decided he specifically didn't want to play for Fullarton. Keep chatting sh*t, you're brilliant at it.

Bet you were sat there booing on your own and holding up a "Please stay Jamie" sign while everyone was singing Aborah's name, I'd love to know what he did to hurt you

I was delighted to see the back of both of them.

I'll happily tell you, he showed a total lack of effort in games which is something I can't forgive. You know when Mansfield stuffed us 5-0 at their place, I spent the last half hour specifically watching Aborah. He had completely lost interest. He tried a few fancy turns when the ball came to him, but stood and watched when Stags had the ball. The effort he put in was zero, it was like we were playing with ten men. There are very few ex-Notts players I would refuse to applaud if they returned to Meadow Lane, but Aborah was one of them. He certainly divided opinion in his time at Notts, some saw him as the best midfielder outside the Championship and the lower league Messi, some saw him as a spineless and vastly overrated show pony who was a complete waste of a shirt.

I think history has proved which group got it right.
