Strange I remember being inside Tannadice around 2 o clock game to kick off at 3 as usual. This was during the Eddie Thomson era and there was Jim McLean laughing and and joking with others. He was in great form, hardly the act of a man 'kicked out of Tannadice' Yes Jim sold his shares and made quite a bit of money doing so.

He was hounded out and you know it...surely you don't grudge the man his share money?

For all his faults as Chairman (and there were many), I don’t ever recall Wee Jum trying to sell his Club to their nearest rivals in a ‘merger’ (or takeover in all but name). And then still getting the rose petal treatment any time they went back.

I'll have to take your word for that about the merger...but don't think there's any special treatment for the Marrs...I know that one of the brothers who goes to watch Dundee sits behind the goal

Not in denial about anything...United for change campaigned for a lengthy time to get rid of Jim...his assault on John Barnes was one his final acts then shortly after Eddie Thomson withdrew all privileges after wee Jim criticized him and the club in his column in a national newspaper... that's the facts whether you like it or not

I genuinely don't know... remember the story at the time...sure the rumour at the time was one brother was willing to do a deal and the other pulled the plug on it

And this is the crux of what folk are finding what your say odd. You don't know about something this momentous of your own club but seem to know, in reasonable detail, things about United.
