And playing for a club that is in financial meltdown, and playing awful football (your words, not mine).

Why is "one of the best players in the country" still (at least for a short time, unfortunately), with such a second rate club? How do you make yourself look thin? Surround yourself with fat people, same principle applies.

On £117,000 per week at Valencia,a beautiful wife and very young family to consider plus the Valencia owner wanted a deal that Leeds obviously could provide.

Eastleigh FC spending big WTF11 ............. views on that ?
Your Hampshires 'Spitfires' taking National League by storm. They've done well with the new owners - bet previous Manager,ex-Leeds Ian Baird wishes he was still in charge of 'em.

Watkins didn’t play in the friendly for Brentford last night - wonder if he is coming up the M1.

Assuming we sign Koch thoughts on what we still need.

For me need another winger/striker - Watkins or Kent would be good.

Need strengthening in midfield - Forshaw unlikely to be fit.

Would be nice to have more cover at the back especially LB.

Another keeper with more experience but only if Kiko leaves.

See Sam Greenwood signing about to be done too.

And yet now he is giving up the £100k+ weekly wage, and relocating himself at least, to Yorkshire, when only a year ago (according to he who knows all regarding Spanish football, other Spanish clubs were offering twice what Leeds have now waved under the Valencia owners nose. And yet hey presto, he's on his way, hmmmmmm.

I have no views on what Eastleigh do or don't do, I don't follow them, nor support them. Just because I live near their ground down't make me a supporter. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased in a detached manner that they are doing well, but if they weren't I'd not be that bothered either.

As for cheering up, I'll smile when Rodrigo proves me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

not sure how you can say Valencia are not a top Spanish club. Rodrigo plays for Spain so can’t see how you can say he is not a top player.

Let’s hope he proves you wrong and rips up the league taking Bielsaball onwards and upwards.

Just saying but all the ex pro pundits think it is a very good signing but heck what do they know either!

Did you enter the world gurning championships this year?

Well, the league positions don't lie, and Valencia haven't won La Liga since 2003/4, and haven't won anything of note in other domestic competitions since Copa del Rey in 2018 and a lot further back for anything else, and haven't won anything in Europe since UEFA Super Cup in 2004.

As for their current situation, "Valencia are in serious financial trouble, and have already sold several key players this summer" (Quote from SportWitness).

So no, they are not a "top Spanish club" by any measure, just as, dare I say it, Leeds United are not a "top English club" YET!

Said in another post responding to Mrs O, I'll smile if Rodrigo proves me wrong (and I'll admit to being wrong too, unlike many on here), I just don't expect that to happen (and Rev, I'm not "dissing" the player, not insulting him or anything like, just expressing an opinion that he has been overvalued by Orta and co, and he isn't the right player for Leeds at this time (if ever) to do what we need).

As for pundits, do their salaries depend on them being right about this player, or that player? No, as long as they make enough noise, keep ducking and diving when it comes to their predictions, then they will still get air time/column inches published.

Everton rarely win anything these days nor do Newcastle but ai would classify both as top clubs.

Using your own analysis of other people’s qualifications to opine on the quality of players .... why should we listen to anything you say either. Wouldn’t mind if you made your point and left it but you respond to virtually all points with a different view trying to bend them to your will.

Even the Rev thinks your daft! Maybe time to stop digging and move on?

If nothing else at least allow those of us who are excited by this to enjoy the moment?

Same view, same points, same opinion, we will see how "excited" we should be when (if) he ever puts on a 1st team shirt (and plays). (And that's looking like around the end of October, given quarantine, the need to be "Bielsafied" etc., so about 7 matches in, be interesting to see how we are doing (and if "The Rod" can get a place if were doing well?)).
