As I am an Aussie now living in the US, I am ignorant as to what constitutes a "bellend". I do know however that Leeds is now partly owned by the San Francisco 49ers which are one of the richest and more importantly one of the most well organized franchises in professional sports in the US. So there is really no chance that Leeds are "overspending".
