Had there been a prolific striker like Gayle we would easily have been promoted with games to spare! Can’t believe after the ( in out of HRK or Austin ) in the championship where both were not good enough - this is one position that’s not been made the absolute priority going into the top league! How many chances in each game will we get on average in the Premier - 3/4 if very lucky so a ruthless striker needs to take an opportunity. Bit like the almost open goal Robinson missed against QPR which could have been costly - these chances in the Premier won’t come around much so a decent striker needs to convert!
Why 14th? There are so many reasons I could type a very long answer to this but here is a summary.

1. 6 weeks before the season started we didn't have a manager. Names banded around on here Adkins, Hughton, Appleton, Cowley, Bowyer. The only thing that little lot would have given us is boring negative football.

2. We had no players. Of the X1 that started the first match 5 hadn't been signed 4 weeks before the season started. The 2 stand outs from last season Pereira and Diangana didn't sign until after the season started

3. Our front 4 for the 1st 3 matches
Phillips, Krovinovic, Edwards, Zohore.

4 Was I alone in my pessimism? Go back and look at what was being posted on here in June.
Here's 1 there are many more of a similar ilk.
"Just a long it's not Slaven Bilge, ( not a spelling mistake, he is pure bilge) we need a host of new players and his record of signings is very poor"

I was in a much danger of being classed a 'happy clapper' as I was negative!

So apart from no manager and no players I was full of confidence.

In terms of recruitment we had a mountain to climb last season and the 'recruitment team' did a great job in building a team good enough to get us automatic promotion. Now OK last season it was Mont Blanc we were climbing and this year it's Everest. I'm in the very concerned camp but not yet the pit of despair.

Who posted this and about whom?

As much chance as the yellow man attending two games a season!
