So I get one spot is available for the conference winners spot which is not contested this year, but what about the second spot?

Are you suggesting that if the Europa League Winners, who go into the CL, are in a top 12 teams Europa League qualifying position, that that creates the second spot?

I agree it would likely be the hardest game but after 16 games they are only 10th out of 16 winning only 5 and losing 7 games so maybe not as good as they were when they qualified for Europe last year
