I was supportive of this for one match only but it’s starting to bore the tits off me now and ruining football. Tonight on Soccer Aid - again all the players going down on one knee!
I hope this is not going to continue into the new season as it’s starting to piss me off now! I know the Americans do some stupid things but before every sporting event - the US National Anthem is played!
Where’s our National Anthem or do we have to continually be bored stupid with this nonsense. Why can’t those who want to go down on one knee do it in the changing rooms as I am sure many of the 22 players too don’t want to do it but it won’t mean they are not supportive.

I’ve said the same to mates who watch Stour matches with me,if this hogwash is going to get rammed down my throat at non league matches I will make my opinion known to the chairman and stop attending ice we are allowed back in.
The ability to not join in ( even if you believe in elements of the cause ) is in itself totalitarian in nature.
It’s no different to being called out for not joining an EDL protest.
Exactly Mick, and although this isnt meant offensively to anybody... I say for goodness sake, lets drop it now eh!!.
And dare I ask, would this worldwide reaction have been the same the other way round, if it had been a British black man ?.![]()
Totally agree. 'Taking the knee' before every game will become a token and meaningless. The only way that that we will rid the world of prejudice is by people's every day actions and not by tokenism.
It is certainly very polarising! I agree with this being continued in the US where racism is systemic, ultimately the US is pretty well a white supremacist state in the guise of a democracy! However here in the UK we are IMO pretty progressive and have done a lot over the last 20 years to stamp out institutional racism, I have black friends who in my much younger days were always the ones being called over for a little chat by the local constabulary, never happened to me. I don’t see this now, but then I’m 40 years older and now live in a totally white part of the country. I have never had a problem with black people of Afro Caribbean origin, always found them to be the same as me and see themselves as British. I think taking the knee in the UK should stop, but we should always be aware of the spectre of racism, after all our forebears fought a war to stop Hitler.
I do however worry about the way we are failing to manage Muslim integration, all I see are enclaves growing with little integration into our way of life, this provides perfect fuel for racial tensions and if not managed better will lead to even bigger issues than we have now.
It's amusing to see Premier League players many on ridiculous salaries taking the knee for BLM. One of BLM's stated aims is to rid society of capitalism. So, we have players on 6 figure weekly salaries pledging themselves to this cause. You really couldn't make it up.
If this routine is going to continue before every match can we follow it with the National Anthem please?
Asking for a friend.
Politics and protests should be the domain of the fans only IMO, all this stuff does is sow the seeds of division - I thought Brexit divided us but this is another level.
It’s time this nonsense was ended. I would like to see some footballers have to guts not to do it; they won’t, though, baa baa baa baa.
