I've had a good look at the proposals and there are some good things in there. The 25% of TV Revenue distributed to EFL clubs is one. £20 for away fans is another.

But, and this is a big 'but'...its not coming from a place of sincerity. Its coming from greed. This money won't come out of the pockets of Liverpool or Man United. It will largely come out of the pockets of the 2 teams who are not in the premier league and the lack of parachute payments for teams who are relegated.

Liverpool and Man U won't lose any income, they'll gain from lucrative foreign pre season friendlies and more Champions League games. They've spotted an opportunity to have more power in the game at other clubs expense (likely ourselves) and used the pandemic as an opportunity to gain power, hiding behind the excuse they are concerned about financially vulnerable lower league clubs.

And all of this creates even more of a financial power gap between established premiership clubs and the rest of the football league.

I'm not against top players making big money or big clubs earning record revenue. We are in a supply and demand capitalist world. To some extent I do like the impact money has had on the game, the premier league is brilliant to watch and we have some of the best players in the world here. We export it as a product all over the world.

But this sheer greed at a time when many are struggling is unedifying, and that's what this is. An opportunist power grab.
