Currently nobody is getting in ahead of Doyle with the way he's playing. Scoring and creating goals in the 94th minute in back to back games. Not bad for an old man.
Doyle won't get dropped no matter how he plays, but he's doing a job atm

Yes he coaches (or coached) their academy players according to this May interview from Barnsley's site...

“I’m playing at Notts County currently and loving it. As well as getting my hours in for my coaching badges here at Barnsley so the guys at the academy have been brilliant in letting me come in and put sessions on. It’s a great atmosphere and the kids are so receptive so I can’t speak highly enough of the work that goes on behind the scenes at Oakwell.”

True he's been our best central midfielder last season and has started even better this term.

He's more than doing a job, great first time pass to Knowles on Tuesday night.

TBF how often does he have a bad game. He got loads of stick last season when he got sent off a couple of time but I still believe that was by people that just couldn’t see what he does. As I said at the time he protects the back four, will take the ball in tight spaces and more often than not plays it forward accurately, it may look easy but it certainly isn’t and on top of that he drives on the team.

It certainly was! On the camera angle from behind the goal you can really see the vision and execution. Pure class...enjoy!

I hope we aren’t barking up the wrong tree with this signing.
