And as it happens I was fairly regularly in Glasgow for my work fighting for fairness for the northeast. The in built bias I felt I was having to overcome was very real and prevalent among those in government and their agencies. The feeling prevailing was that the northeast was rich so there was no need for government monies. There was a real feeling of jealousy that Aberdeen was the centre of the oil industry, not Glasgow where it belonged. Whilst good pay was true for some, for those who weren't rich being poor in a relatively rich society only heightened the feeling of poorness and actual poorness as costs here were higher for those not on big salaries. But as you said not one single f*uck was given. As we say in these parts it was a sair fecht.
