Hey Viaduct, I actually think we came out of lockdown too soon to begin with. Either way, Boris and co simply don't know how to handle this do they.

Everything was going fine until the first week of September.......I wonder what happened that week!?

The weather was good ( 923 was sunning himself in Cornwall and extending his stay due to the weather ) so it’s not like we had a cold snap.

Students went back to university etc in all the major cities and kids went back to school.

Students did moronic stuff just like those a r s e clowns did in Nottingham on Thursday night.

It’s the 18-24 year olds that have caused this situation with their selfish stupidity along with three and four generational households of overly full houses.

In the main it’s students though.
Our eldest lad has lived in Aberystwyth for the last 16 years.
He told us last month that all the residents were annoyed when the students returned in September as they were going around in gang's and having parties on the beach.
Now Aber has been in lockdown for over a week.
I think it was ludicrous to open schools and universities with the flu season approaching.
Anyone who has had kids knows full well that if anything is going around, they will bring it back.

Just pissed off, having a rant, don’t actually want any nukes set off. I would like to see the demise of the awful Chinese state, though. I still think that the virus has a connection with that laboratory in Wuhan and it was criminal of the Chinese not to inform the World about the virus as soon as it appeared in Wuhan. Wuhan, secret laboratory, coincidence?

Absolutely, and perhaps this time, not come out of it so quickly. Punishment for those that choose to break the rules should be minimum of 10k and prison not an alternative, fine to be taken at source from income or benefit etc.

Hopefully the rate of infection will go down during the next month. However, I'm not very optimistic that it will stay down over the Xmas period. I can visualise all the irresponsible students having parties during November then go home for Xmas and spread it to the community.

Boris should have closed universities down and the students, if clear, sent home. They can work on line just as easily from home. We have experienced the same problems as 55's son has in Aberystwith. As I stated before, up to a month ago our rate per 100,000 was extremely low, in fact in I think in single figures. In the last month we have shot up to one of the worst in the country. Is it coincidence that our village is approx. eight miles from Loughborough? I don't think so.

I still think it’s strange that China - the country where this virus apparently came from - has had as many Covid cases as Bahrain where I used to live which has a population the size of Glasgow. Once this virus has subsided this will be a question again - in fact surprised there has not been more on this. I just don’t believe that the Chinese are better at social distancing ......

Yes I 'made hay while the sun shined' Uncertainty about future travel and my wife's sensible head meant we decided not to buy there right now.

We have already gone into lockdown. Cancelled socials we had for tonight, Tues and Weds this week. Considered if we went ahead it was akin to youngsters having a last Saturday night out. Small price to pay IF it makes a difference.

The reason the Chinese has such a low infection rate I believe is due to a few reasons.
Unlike our very liberal state of undisciplined selfish individuals china has a very strict regime which does not tolerate any none compliance When the population was asked to minimise contact they obeyed the rules, or else !
If necessary they forcibly collected potential infected people and housed them in massive aircraft hangar style building or used hotels.
    Compliance was achieved.
In Comparison significant numbers of our population chose not to comply and had little regard for any of the rules or self-discipline.
Our track/ Trace system has been criticised but I have it on very good authority that the appalling figures are mainly down to individuals giving false information, refusing to cooperate when traced and ignoring the advice to isolate. And yes it is mainly the 18-30 group.
It’s getting the balance right between peoples freedoms.
I take a very hard line with discipline im afraid so I’m biased but I’d send patrols out on the street hoovering up the those idiots off the street and carting them to detention centres.
