to be honest that was pesh, the writing was on the wall when you see Cosgrove getting a start, I blame the manager again for that one.

Whilst Cosgrove did very little I understand the decision to start him as he looked lively in the 20 minutes he played against them last week plus Edmundson didn't train all week after coming off injured last week. So for once you can't blame a McInnes starting line-up

You have to score first against celtic and we missed our two half chances in the first 10 minutes from the Cosgrove headers and they scored with their half chance from Christie. Second goal was very poor from Considine at back post. Game was done at that point and the remaining hour was largely a borefest from both teams

    Disappointing overall.

I felt we matched them for much of the game and had the ball in and around their box as much if not more than they did ours. The difference was we didn’t take the one or two chances we had and we switched off to let them score.

I think we look much better with Watkins up top rather than Cosgrove as he can at least play football. Watkins up too with hedges and Wright behind would have worked better.

On the plus side I thought Kennedy did well - I’d have him in the starring 11 in the right wing back role. Hopefully Hayes isn’t out too long.

Pretty pish in the end. Pleased we tried to put out an attacking line up, but after they scored we just faded away. We didn't deserve anything out of that game.

Over the two games I didn’t think there was a huge amount between us and Celtic.

Main differences are - if you give them a chance they will score 9 times out of 10, while if you give us a chance we’ll score 1 time out of 10.

I thought the approach over the two games was right, and the mentality and attitude of the players seemed to be fine - the team selection you could maybe argue we shouldn’t have started with Cosgrove today but it was an attacking line up which is what we all wanted to see.

For me, one thing we need to work on is our finishing - what to do once we get into the box. If we’re going to mix it with Celtic and rangers we need to be more ruthless

We gave up after the second goal. Never once seen any players or our manager trying to really up the tempo. Hedges, Wright, Kennedy and Hoban tried I will give them that but the rest were dreadful really. In fairness to McLennan he can join that list...he at least tried when he came on.
We missed Hayes today also in the respect he has a real go at the Celtic players. He tries to make things happen. Quite a few of our lot should be looking at him and learning.

Hedges was our best player for me but he needs to work on his shooting, and practice with both feet. His accuracy is a bit poor and that chance he had to shoot on 10-15 minutes on his wrong foot was screaming to be hit! He sh@ it, cut inside, chance gone.
Maybe cosgrove looked sharp in training, but he was off it in the game. Couple of poor headers and not much else.

Consi gave plenty ammo out for free with that 2nd goal, but it should never have made it over! Who was that let Rogic cross it? Shoulda been blocked. Kennedy was decent.

Too many high balls for me. Was that a consequence of Sam being back even though he’s better with it at his feet!

Imagine Simmy or Cooper letting that happen, in the days of Aitken, Burns, Grant etc etc
