I cast my vote in elections by postal vote but at the back of my mind is the doubt that my postal vote may have got ‘lost in the post’. There is no guarantee unless each postal voter is sent a reference number for their voting paper when it is received at the electoral registration office prior to the date of vote. This can then be checked by the postal voter after the results are announced to see if their reference number is listed. From memory when I voted in person my voting form had a code punched on it before I cast my vote.
I have been a postal voter since 1995.
