BBC were saying that they had been top of Division 1 in the 1980's - they were talking about what music was around at that time.

They are right about the Premier League too! Not sure what there is to moan about!

The point is - distinguishing the PL from the top flight causes confusion, see here

I agree with what you are saying but I'm not sure that using a quote from futballnews is fair, when your criticism was against the BBC!
