    Petition to stop VAR

Will you sign the petition calling on the Premier League, EUFA and FIFA to stop the use of VAR in English football?

No, they need to change the rules not the use of Video Assistants.

Looking at how it's being used at the minute it's ruining the game, however the pace in the PL is so quick there has to be some from of arbitration for penalties and other big moments in a game. The offside decisions are insane, for me it's if no part of a player is level with the last man because a great striker will time their run perfectly.

The way decisions are being made is inconsistent, the whole purpose of VAR was to fix that - so on balance, get rid.

Sport is not meant to be an exact science. It should be refereed by humans, laws being interpreted in the heat of the moment. Human error is part and parcel of sports officials. Blimey, can you imagine if GKs or strikers were allowed to correct their errors? Can you imagine how many goals Simon Stainrod would have scored?

The ‘Rugger Buggers’, Tennis, USA sport and Cricket are to partly to blame for their ‘in-game’ innovations.

But it’s all down to money, the root of all evil, as some chap wrote in an old book of fairy tales.

Oh!!! There’s ‘so much at stake’ they cry and wail. More money for steak, more like.

Bin it all? A bit late now folks, the money men are making too much of a fortune.

    The game died years ago.

Seems only yesterday we were wining about off sides, penalty calls, handballs etc. VAR has its uses but in the end it's still a human interpreting the results. Leave it mostly to the refs. If they feel unsure or are unsighted then they alone choose to bring in VAR. As a back up only.

While fans are not at the frounds, we the fans are powerless. If these crazy decisions happen when the fans are let back then you will see trouble, pitch invasions, protests, stay away or having games abandoned??
The crazy decisions are cutrently falling on deaf ears but this won't always be the case!

a word about ludicrous off-sides, we were always told it was offside if your foot was beyond the foot of the defender... so why is pointing with your arm where to put the ball deemed to be offside ? If we went back to that interpretation you wouldn't need to draw these lines to delineate
a false dichotomy between body and foot. If you use the feet as measurement they are on the same plane and therefore it is apparent whether they are level or not. Var is being used to create a reading of the offside law which is patently nonsense. Similarly the handball law was obvious before this new interpretation. Intent has to be the primary motivation otherwise it is denies common sense!
