    I was sent this...

All other areas will stay at there current levels with the exception of the NE moving to level 3.

West & Central Scotland Level 4 for a minimum of 4 weeks if figures are good they will return to level 3 mid-December.

All level 3 areas will remain in that band until January 5th.

If the Rating Number (R) is estimated to be between 0.6 - 1.0 at Christmas there will be a 48hr relaxation on 25th & 26th of December for home visits for those living in level 3 & 4 areas to under the same guidelines as level 2.

If figures are reduced they are hoping much of Scotland will return to level 2 on January 5th when footfall for the hospitality sector is traditionally at its lowest.

All Sons & Daughters of the Rock will face these further restrictions with the same stoic resolve that saw off the Romans, Vikings & Young Bundy.

There will be no whiny tantrums or hissy fits, despite those in the NE getting off lightly again. We’ll just get on with it

There’s word that Peterhead and Fraserburgh’s current rising infection rate, traced to fish processing plants, may see ‘Aberdeenshire’ raised from Spinal Tap 2 to 3, which means that Braemar, for example, a tiny village in the Cairngorm foothills 100 miles away from these higher risk areas would be affected. If nothing else, it shows up the folly and unfairness of massive local authorities, denuded of power, controlled from Holyrood with no concessions made to subsidiarity, a guiding principle of the devolution envisaged by those who designed it in the 80s and 90s when the current party of government was in the huff.

I’d take my chances tomorrow on home rule for Banffshire, preferably with Buckie left to fester in Moray.

The devolution handbrake is on, the engine is immobilised, and wheel clamps fitted, in Edinburgh.

Exactly. Possibly things wouldn’t have been so bad now had they not politically decided to delay imposing the restrictions.

The stats show, deal with the issue swiftly and with decent force is preferential to delay and squalor

It was a political decision to procrastinate about the west of scotland for the last 6 weeks or so.

The very definition of a political decision is that it's made by politicians.
