I keep asking the same question sinkov, "Why are there no bodies piling up in the street?"

Lunchtime yesterday me and the Child Bride decided to have a window shop in Bolton.

My first reaction, "I thought we were supposed to be in Lockdown?" The place was heaving.

What we both found odd was the absence of Bizzies. Zero police presence, only a few masks, the only difference to a "normal" Sunday was the non food shops, pubs and restaurants were all shut.

Bizarre does not quite do it! I no longer see the point of this masquerade.

All reinforced by Boris going into isolation again! You reported that it was like a "normal" Sunday, hence the populus are not listening to what they are being told by those in power.
Probably the same in many places over the weekend and has been reported to Westminster.
Suddenly, last night, Boris is isolating because he has been in contact with someone with the virus in the safe environment of Downing Street. He is then reported in the various media channels as being "fit as a butcher's dog but sticking to the guidelines as people should do"

    Merry Christmas - NOT!

I’ve just read Professor Jon Deeks, an expert in biostatistics at the University of Birmingham, said the Innova “lateral flow” tests being used by the Government had a “false positive” rate of almost 0.4 per cent, according to official research commissioned by ministers.

This would mean if testing were ramped up to cover the UK's population of 66 million ahead of the Christmas period, and assuming the ministers are not lying, we will end up with about 400,000 people in the country getting false positive results.

The impact is obvious: for nearly half a million people their Christmas would be wrongly ruined by enforced lockdowns following errant false positive results. How long do we actually need to start getting these tests 100% spot on?

You can't get them 100% accurate BT, and actually a 0.4% false positive rate is quite low, certainly lower than the PCR test currently being used.

The queues of people seeking tests in Liverpool suggest the initial acceptability of this pilot is high, at least to some. Its ethical basis, however, looks shaky. The council claims, wrongly, that the test detects infectiousness and is accurate. In fact, if used alone it will lead to many incorrect results with potentially substantial consequences. The context for gaining consent has been tarnished by the enthusiasm of some local officials and politicians. In the case of schools, the programme has been culpably rushed: parents have had to respond unreasonably promptly to a request to opt out if they do not want their child screened.12

There is no protocol for this pilot in the public domain, let alone systems specification or ethical approval. The public has had no chance to contribute, as required by the UK standards for public involvement in research.13

Spending the equivalent of 77% of the NHS annual revenue budget on an unevaluated underdesigned national programme leading to a regressive, insufficiently supported intervention—in many cases for the wrong people—cannot be defended.

another pointless exercise - but anything to get those numbers up - more numbers for what is to the Vast majority of people - a pointless bug.

Despite claims by the city council that the Innova test is “very accurate with high sensitivity and specificity,it has not been evaluated in these conditions.

    ready for a laugh....?

    omg !

I trawl through the GOV.UK and NHS websites trying to find out what I can BT, and it's a struggle trying to find anything meaningful. Last night I came upon a gem, a circular graph showing the excess deaths this year, compared to the previous five years, but it was only for London, I couldn't find a similar national graph. What it showed though was a huge upward spike in excess deaths from March with it coming down sharply as summer approached. All summer this year's line was running alongside the last five years, it continued like that into September, October and it's still at the same level as the last five years right now.

What it shows quite clearly is that there are no excess deaths in London, there is no 2nd wave in London. Last years flu victims are now called Covid victims, that's all that's different, the numbers are the same. Which is why you can't find the bodies BT, there aren't any, or to be more accurate, no more than normal.
