Its just 7 games of an interrupted season, we've seen some brilliant football and some absolute tosh admittedly but just 7 games.

Barrow had 7 points from their first 7 games last season, where did they finish again?
Barrow lost to Wrexham, Harrogate, Stockport and Halifax in their first seven games. We've lost to Dover, Maidenhead and Aldershot in our first seven.

Also Barrow went on a remarkable run after their early season slump they won seven in a row and only lost once in 23 games to Torquay.

It's possible for us to emulate that of course but which each passing game it puts more and more pressure on us to go on such a run and beat the stronger teams. The teams in this league are not going to wait around for us to get our act together.

Besides we are dropping too many points that is the concern after the hour mark. Dover 1 point lost, Maidenhead 3 points lost from a winning position and Halifax 2 points lost from a winning position. That's not what promotion teams or title winning teams do. That's six points we have thrown away in seven games. We would be up there with the pace setters on 16 points by now. That's where we should be.

The fact of the matter is if you want to get automatically promoted out of this league then you can't afford to lose no more than 10 games and that is a very maximum because in the last five years only Barnet went up automatically with 10 defeats because they did not draw many. They won 28 and drew 8.

At the other end of the scale Cheltenham only lost 5 games all season the year after and went up automatically.

You've got to be really good all the time at this level to get automatic promotion and can't keep having off days like we have been in the early part of the season.
