Exactly, Osborne or Roberts. Let's face it, Osborne was a decent prospect but he was never ahead of Roberts and Enzio

I’m pretty fed up of hearing that “we let him go”. We tried to keep him, offered him a new contract, and he decided to leave.

Why are we bothered about how Barnsley feel??? I'm sure the two managers are in regular contact on how he is doing, if they aren't happy they can recall him.
I never said he was better than those two I just said attackers lose the ball.

We dont want to get a rep for loaning youngsters and not playing them I mean we cant accuse Ardley of doing that with Graham Wolfe or Knowles can we.

Losing raw, but promising youngsters like Osborne and Crawford but keeping old men like Doyle and O’Brien seems like a recipe for a long spell in this league to me.

So he gives the ball away as much as two more productive attacking players in his position so we wanted to keep him as a further option? What if he wanted more guaranteed first team football?

We don't indeed never a good thing, but he's probably very aware that this season is make or break so upsetting Barnsley or Mansfailed isn't top of the priorities. As long as our reputation is considerably better than the final season under Hardy I'm happy.

You do realise NO PLAYER is going to play all 46 games.

Ozzy could have got 20 games this season easily with short turn arounds and Covid but Ardley has more than likely told him to go.

You see that is fine but like Big Lad says we are playing old men week in week out and he is right we are going nowhere with this approach.

My point about loaning players from a higher league is make sure they are good enough to play, NONE of them are playing that is poor recruitment in my eyes.

I do indeed realise that I also think we have a big enough squad and enough attacking options with Wootton , Thomas, Roberts, Sam, Enzio, Rodriguez to cover the 46 games.

Poor loan recruitment yes, but overall the more important permanent recruitment has been a big improvement under these owners. So we should be grateful for that

At the end of the day, you live and die by the sword if Ardley's approach fails this season he's no longer manager. Sounds fair to me. I just don't think keeping Osborne to be involved in 15-20 games this season or letting him go to Leamington Spa would have much impact on whether the manager is successful or not.

I would much rather have a deal that says we don't have to play them, than one where they are expected to be in for every game. I think we may have been there before.

I agree NOBODY should be exoected to play every game.

It seems Doyle has to play 90 minutes every week which is going to cost us games its not his fault though.

What a stupid thread. He was offered a new deal and chose to go to Leamington as he didn't think he was good enough to make Notts first team that's all there is to it. Perhaps he is, perhaps he isn't but it was his decision not the clubs.
