You certainly wouldn't want them next to you in the trenches.

Couldn't agree more CF that just illustrates how overreacting to any single game is ridiculous let alone when a goal in conceded.

Most people have said it was a poor performance but with plenty of character and obviously a good result. That's not going OTT or even close that's just how it is.
Agree about the individual game, I'm holding off from commenting during the game these days as like you say it can result in egg on face plus I genuinely don't know which Notts will turn up most games. True the style is the same but some games it works better than others. The 3 points for me is always the most important thing as performances can improve with the confidence a win gives you.

The only thing really worrying me is progression, I like having a manager who can build over seasons if he's the right one. I would love to sit down with him and really find out his views on certain players and what he hopes to achieve, what does he think about the lack of energy especially in midfield, has he got some players in mind to replace the old guard next season if he's still here. I would like to put to him he's had 2 summer windows and last January to put the meat and bones in place of "his" team, is he satisfied with how the team plays, the defence, the chances created, the slow play which allows opposition to reset. I think the trouble is with Ardley is every game brings up more questions for me than answers.

Yeah I'm sure lots would have some really good questions for him, and he would provide interesting thoughtful answers. Would like to hear his answers to your questions.

"I like having a manager who can build over seasons if he's the right one." - sorry to hear that man. Being a Notts fan we've got to go all the way back to Big Sam for that. Depressing

Yeah we've had some bad ones there's no denying and maybe a couple who should have been given time but weren't. If we can show some consistency over the next few games then no reason this season can't be a good one still.

I watched the game with the Charlie/Stall commentary, but part of me wishes I’d stuck with the Chesterfield one just for their despair at the end.

Actually, it was really good to be able to review the goals with both home and away commentary. The "Oh my dear" from the home commentator when we equalised had a sort of resigned inevitability about it, but I don't know how he avoided an expletive when Wootton scored!

Imagine the scenes in a packed away end under normal circumstances. Would have been amazing. Still buzzing from the equaliser before grabbing the unlikely winner

I was thinking the same. It doesn't matter that we hadn't played well and the win could be described as fortunate, but these things only happen very occasionally. You are resigned to a dismal drive home thinking you've come away from a game against relegation fodder with nothing, but then you get a stoppage time equaliser which makes the journey back at least palatable. You then go on to get a stoppage time winner and the world is a wonderful place, and the drive back home can't last long enough. Even red traffic lights are ok!

That's what being a football fan is all about.

Agreed. Couldn't understand that someone was saying you couldn't celebrate a win like that. For me, it was a great feeling on Saturday, however poor we had played.

I can understand that if you're not an Ardley fan, in the cold light of day you could see it as a result that prolongs the agony.

However, I can't understand any Notts fan who wasn't delighted immediately following 90+3 minutes on Saturday.
