It is interesting how different supporters see a game. Dendoncker was criticised in some quarters for doing nothing. His stats show that he covered more ground ( over eleven kilometers) than anyone else on the pitch. Only Jimenez, another who was criticised, was any where near him for ground covered. Football is not always about what you do with the ball, sometimes it is what you do without it.

Dave Edwards was often accused of being a headless chicken. But his running and closing down of opponents, forcing them into rushed passes or errors often went unnoticed. The same could be said of Jimenez last night. Even late in the game he sprinted fifty or so yards to put their defenders under pressure. At times against the Saints he cut a frustrated figure, with the ball evading his runs, but he never hid and through his skill forced our equaliser.

Last night was Raul's 85th consecutive appearance in the Premier League, the joint longest run level with Kasper Schmeichel. While last night was 34th Premier League game that Wolves have failed to score in the first half, more than any other side. On the plus side, we have lost just one of our last seven home Premier League games.

It was no surprise that the Saints keeper McCarthy was awarded Man of the Match. Without him we would almost certainly be two points further up the table.
