I'm not too far away from that generation myself. But I have three young daughters and if we arrive at a place where they can follow football and gender isn't used as a casual derogative reference then we'll be in a better place as a community, and society. It's not hard for those coming though and it's progress of a kind, that's for sure. It's happening, it's a good thing and there's no going back.

Agree with all of that. We're moving on, and some people resist change or are blind to the implication of language choice. Casual ***ism is no less bad than casual racism.

Interesting that the headline didn't match the full facts. I don't imagine for one second that this was the only time he's been repeatedly ***ist as a pundit either.
