    Too much emphasis on formation.
There are no teams in world football since Ramsey changed from 235 to 442 in 1966 that play 352 as their regular default system with any success. Clubs play it occasionally in certain situations to counter a specific threat.

Plus, I've got to add, this 3 at the back malarkey is a red herring. When warne picks it, it is 5 at the back.

To go into such an eminently winnable fixture with your ATTACKING width as Joe Mattock and Wes Harding was frankly cowardly. Mattock and Harding are both solid fullbacks, but that's all they are: fullbacks. Meanwhile we have a player, undoubtedly inconsistent, proven as a winger at this level and was recently sold for £2m sat on the bench watching. A player who could, perhaps, have given their fullbacks food for thought when bombing on. But hey, he got 8 minutes when the game was lost.

Not only tactical incompetence but also tactical cowardice. I'd rather go down with guns ablaze than whimper meekly under the waves.

Chieo, Robbo, Sadlier and Shaun MacDonald are all players who would undoubtedly have made a difference in some games if they had been available up to now and we shouldn't really underestimate the effect of losing those four.

Yes, exactly what Ive been saying. When Englad play it its 5 at the back.

The only team Ive seen do it ok was the great Barcelona team - but they played 1 at the back with 80% possession.

They would add more quality yes but the outcome would still be hoofball.
When have we consistently played well with the long ball tactics ?

Didn’t play well we ground out results.
It won’t work in this league we have tried before and failed repeatedly.

Flo he's like Miller not strong enough. Why do we sign players who are not up to the demands we require.

Could be right especially Ogbene and MacDonald but I’m wondering if Warney actually knows his squad tbh, if he had a fully fit side to pick from it wouldn’t surprise me if he still played some out of position tbh

Granted we didn't play well but we were consistently consistent and difficult to beat. We've stepped up a league, better quality opposition.
