Am pleased way things are going just now , cud do better ? Cud be a lot worse off anorl , some need to gerra true perspective of who we are , and also what league we are in , " a chuffin hard one " , retaining Championship Football for us is a major plus , we doing oreyt so far ! Wi a fair wind behind us ? Sitting comfortably safe with a few games to play in April will do for me , any progress after that is fine , If the Bury Baggio leaves it will be our record sale , this Lad is destined for the Premiership , if and when that happens , i wish him the very best , he's an outstanding talent , enjoy him while we can ,

My thoughts entirely Roma , get top dollar for the lad in the summer and use the majority of the money to invest in the areas of the squad we need to .

Styles in my opinion is the goose who lays the golden eggs and a monumental component in not only securing championship status but also kicking on .

However this needs to be managed effectively , we require the right fee and the recruitment department to invest the proceeds well .

We can't afford any feck ups what so ever because if we do under this strategy we are likely to take a step back and we all know where a step back is at this level .

A step back is the last thing we want right now Animal , we have seen how these owners worked in the past , let's hope they are listening to the fans , and maybe show a bit more Ambition , to be fair they haven't done too bad of late , a few additions is all that's required , top 10 ? Let's hope , we are better than just being strugglers at this level I M O , let's get rid of this inferiority complex that's devoloped , the games we had against Bournemouth , Watford , Swansea etc were all in the lower division's in years back , they all progressed , we for some reason stood still ,

Can’t see that - IMO if we can push for top 6 this season then that’s what we should be pushing for.
And the directors are very likely to be thinking the same.
The directors are holding the cards - but it’s knowing when to stick or twist.
I think they know where the frailties lie.
Val has already identified those areas.
Don’t be surprised in January if they open the cheque book a te.eny weeny bit to bring in one or more players they didn’t manage to get in the summer.

As for Styles - if a big bid comes in next summer then he will go - but it will have to be way way over what the owners think his value is.
The owners don’t need to sell and I can see Styles being here for at least another season.
And why the rush to sell the family silver !?!?!
That’s what Patrick did when players were on short contracts.
    That’s not the case now.

    Nudger

These owners simply aren't gonna get the chequebook art. They've laid darn their philosophy and its clear for everybody to see. A wunt live in hope if a wo thee. It's gonna tek the sale of a major player for them to even consider buying sumdy ova 2 million and pay his wages.

We ain't good enough to challenge the top 6 this season. We are a decent team and have improved from last season. That sits perfectly fine wi me.

Personally, am enjoying watching us laik. Its entertaining football and a shyte sight better than some of the trash wiv bin served up ova the years.

    No I’m not sure Roma.
I’m like everyone else - I’m reading between the lines and trying to interpret what’s being said.
And after listening to what’s being said by the owners and CEO then my general opinion is this:
They are bringing in young talented players and putting them on long term contracts.

    Their invest increases if:
The team as a whole is successful and reaches its highest position.
Individuals within that team are developed and become more valuable when playing in a successful team.
That is to say - higher up the league we go - the more valuable are the players within that team.

And IMO - that progress is being held back for the sake of one or more additional strikers.
At the moment - spoiling the barrel for a penny worth of tar.
But it’s still very interesting because I’ve a strong belief there are exciting times ahead.

I think you've interpreted it wrongly Nudge in my opinion but we'll see of course .
