Aye same effect in walking free but morally totally different
Not being legally trained, I feel only slightly less qualified than Donald Findlay in these matters so that bring the case, I’ve always taken it that “not guilty” means the judge / jury don’t think you did the crime while “not proven” always meant they think you did do it but the required burden of proof was not met to convict.
As said though the outcome is the same in that you walk free so I’ve never really understood the need for not proven. If the prosecution can’t prove their case then not guilty would suffice surely?
Anyway, I think we can all agree that badcock was a terrible signing, both for football and non footballing reasons.
If Sevco are giving you a wide berth with some of the pond life they’ve happily signed over the years, that should be all the warning you need...
