    Is this an omen

    By my reckoning the last England international centre forward to manage Derby would have been Cloughie.
    Cloughies start in management at Derby was similar to today with Rooney.... difficult to score goals and win matches but what Cloughie did was tighten the defence first and foremost when, as a former goal scoring forward, we might have expected him to try to outscore the opposition..... just like today.... maybe an omen because we all know what happened after the first season.

    Nice thought. Happy to hang onto it as a source of some comfort in this horrible year/season.

    Nothing nicer than a clean sheet (well there is, a win, but clean sheets are a great start).

    When Cloughie speaks, he commands his audience, you just can't ignore him. When Rooney speaks, you just can't stay awake.
