When will the dumbass realise that the "Australia deal" he talks of is actually NO ****IN DEAL? TW*T.

He may as well talk about the ‘Narnia deal’. Regardless of where one stands on Brexit, and I remain unashamedly opposed to it, the notion of trying to ‘get Brexit done’ against the background of the pandemic is just irresponsible and dangerous on the part of Government.

On Marr this morning our Government is quoted as suggesting that supermarkets start to ‘stockpile’. If we’re not very careful 2020 will give way to a 2021 characterised by a third Covid ‘spike’, panic buying and food shortages.

Remember how we were told this would be the ‘easiest deal ever’? An ‘Oven-Ready deal’...Johnson boasted to the Nissan workers in Sunderland...a deal that was ‘ready to go’. Well now we know for sure...what a complete pack of lies.

After all the EU did say in 2016 not long after the vote that there could be no unfettered access to the single market without agreeing to certain conditions, so its not as if its a surprise.
But no, the Tories believed that the EU could be divided, that individual interests would outweigh the EU's common view. mm that worked out well didn't it?

I'm sort of surprised that divide and rule didn't have more success but I suspect that, because we are the test case to stop others leaving, the centre pulled the weaker links together, probably by buying the unity.

Sorry GP, but yes...I do blame Johnson...and that elusive slime ball Farage. The latter has done very nicely out of all the EU carnage, while Johnson has just proved himself to be an over educated idiot who may know all there is to know about the ‘Classics’ but f’ all about leadership and the real world.

What did MoP optimistically write over four years ago? ‘The future’s bright...the future’s Brexit!!!’ Right now, unless something changes very rapidly, this country’s future looks f***ed to me...something even the likes of MoP must be beginning to realise.

It was only the end game of a select minority group of Tories and perhaps those prominent Brexiteers - Jim Ratcliffe, James Dyson who promptly shifted their operations overseas to gain better access to the EU single market!!

If May adnt so drastically ****ed up when she called an election she said she never would, then the European Research group (ERG and a misnomer if ever there was one) would not have had the influence they have had.

Johnson has now put himself into a position whereby this ephemeral notion of "sovereignty" trumps everything else, yet its an illusion at best, all trade deals involve giving something up to gain something.

I am still of the view that a deal will be done, even Johnson who seems to far removed from reality and who lets not forget was initially a Remainer (despite the anti EU *******s on bent bananas etc. he sued to write for the Torygraph) who makes decision based on what he thinks are his best interests, rather than the national interest, will sign a deal.

To do otherwise would be a economic catastrophe which would sink him. Mind you the costs and red tape involved in the deal on offer is going to be very costly, wonder what the cost benefit analysis of say the costs of leaving the EU, against the £350 million we supposedly saved would show?

It wasn't a surprise to me. As you say, the EU were not going to roll over and make it easy for a member to leave. Secondly the single market and the free trade it allows is possibly the single most important achievement of the EU ( apart from the fact that for over 70 years peace has reigned for European countries who prior to WW" had been prone to messy conflicts for over a century), they said from the start and have maintained that stance, that access to the single market must come with conditions.

I suspect that UK politicians underestimated this unity, more than likely because they thought they knew better.

We’ll be in complete control...of all the traffic jams and lorry parks that fill Kent...of all the unnecessary and avoidable foreign travel complications...of the falling £...more expensive imports...higher tariffs on exports...greater difficulty importing vaccines and other medical supplies...the increased unemployment caused by the likely closure of Nissan and Toyota etc...we’ll be in charge, and responsible for it all.

Ah yes, sorry I forgot...we’ll have complete sovereignty (maybe) over the 0.1% of our economy that fishing represents...although, as you say, that will be reduced due to increased tariffs. Thanks Nigel...what a helluva guy.
