Watching the Palace game, Eze looks twice the player Diangana is, let’s hope Diangana can improve over time

I consider Diagana a player who looks great against inferior opposition when all is going well in the team. West Ham fans were entertained as he showed off with his fancy flicks, tricks and dribbles in pre-season, but against who ? Lower league teams in very low key low competitive games.
Sadly he joins a bunch of other similar characters we have recruited or raised in our squad.
Ive said this before but over recent Years I can only name O’Shea, Gallagher, Hegazi, and Brunt who I would say could be counted on when the pressure is on.
Biggest Wimps are, Sawyers, Harper, Gibbs, Diagana,
Nutters who lose their heads under pressure, Kanu, Bartley, Phillips, Pereira
Those who freeze and become anonymous Grant, Livermore, Ajayi
When Bilic goes ( like all manager do at some point ) I pity the new bloke that has to work with that lot
Eze's a cracking player and I'd have have loved to see him playing for us. We bid for him but we simply couldn't afford him.
I've read a lot of comments online bemoaning the outlay on Diangana, not jus because he hasn't delivered as much as we'd like but because the money could have been better spent in other departments.
I'm not entirely sure how spending even more on creative players raises the quality required in other areas. In an ideal world we could have signed Diangana AND Eze, but neither signing would have addressed our glaring need for a mobile combative DM, a centre half in his prime or a reliable front line.
Personally speaking I can't quite get my head around playing five at the back when we haven't got a wing back of any note on the books. We could use wide midfielders but our centre backs simply aren't good enough or mobile enough to cover the wide open spaces we leave across the back.
And on a wider note I genuinely don't think anyone at the club appreciated just how far off the pace Ivanovic was going to be. Eze does it on the transfer front if nobody at the club could see the potential for that.
HI, didn't Eze make it clear he wanted to stop in London. Still think Diagana will come good.
