Has to be said Fuchs was excellent again today. Agree with others we need the creative midfielder
Much prefer mcmullan to Pawlett for that role. It probably can’t be 3 strikers and shanks or Clark will sometimes need to drop to bench.
Shanks ok today but he really needs to get his mojo back
Disclaimer: I am a fan of a back 3. Much preferred playing in a 3. A back 3 done properly though!
We sit too deep and dont carry ball out of defence to commit players. End up not playing through the lines well enough and play hopefully forward. Becomes too negative playing a 3 like that.
Still think the team deserve a lot of credit today for scraping a point. Few games we have not had the luck, so nice it went for us today.
McNulty for me still has to prove himself as earning a starting role. McMullan, Bolton, McNulty, Sporle and Chalmers can all be good options.
Still think Clark is underrated but wasted in a wider role. Much better centrally and remains our best back to goal forward.
Two big games this week and think a bit of positivity will come from today to take into them.
Can’t fault Mellon on our league position by playing they way we have so far
But... defending a draw from kick off. Them inevitably chasing a draw in the second isn’t a good game plan. Surely we can start tk be a bit more progressive especially against teams similar quality to us.
We are definitely still missing a link man in midfield. The personnel we have doesn’t fit that bill but with money so tight we aren’t gonna sign one any time soon. Three strikers don’t work without service.
Still trust Mellon though. Just the negative tactics are starting to wear a bit thin.
As above - we need extra quality in the middle. I actually think between Shanks, McNulty and Clark we’re pretty well served up front. Defensively we’re ok, not great, but ok. However, MM keeps playing the 5 at the back caper precisely as I suspect he doesn’t fancy the ability of his midfield and is subsequently concerned about the defence getting exposed due to deficiencies in the middle of the park. Hence he overloads the centre of defence. Fuchs has been a good addition but we need more alongside him to genuinely start to improve that part of the team. The problem is we have nae money.
Solution? Seigrist MUST be sold.
Benji is proving to be an outstanding keeper, displaying that again yesterday. BUT, we have a more than capable back up in Deniz and if there is one part of a team that is easier to replace then it is in the goal. Right now what resources we can get are needed in other parts of the pitch as a priority and, IMHO, this is the way to do it.

Really,? I'd sell shankland before Benji given he's earned us more points
Started posting similar re Benji last night but wasn't brave enough to hit the send button.ol.
We have a £1m plus goalkeeper there that can maybe in the near future afford to get us 3 or 4 players that can improve us.
He's a vg goalkeeper but like you say he's plays in a position on the pitch that is most expendable.
Depending on the length of his contract it would be best if we sold him in the summer to probably get the most value out of the transfer market but we might not have the luxury of waiting.
