Thread: Vs Barnsley

Also currently we are having postponements due to covid in our camp, but when we get the all clear we can still lose more games if covid is in the opposition camp.

Us, Chesterfield now Donny have covid in the camp, it’s quite feasible that Barnsley might be next. Who knows?

Sunderland have now cancelled their fourth game in succession

As it appears that a rigorous testing regime has not been taking place maybe now it should be going forward.
It's astonishing that the efl and the govt have allowed this to happen

As the Premier league have not really shared much of their huge pot of gold then surely the least they could do is fund the tests going forward

Was it a good idea for this season to impose restrictions on squad size? Maybe in January they will allow larger squads so teams can meet fixtures.

Possibly was a mistake to be implemented this season but doubt they could "unlevel" the playing field halfway through

Why can't we as a club tell the EFL we simply aren't playing like Sunderland have. They have now cancelled their 4th match due to Covid.

    BBC sportpage:

Sunderland have confirmed Tuesday's League One game at Accrington Stanley has been suspended, as a Covid-19 outbreak continues to affect the squad.

It follows the postponement of the Black Cats' past three games - against Shrewsbury, Blackpool and Hull - with this now the fourth in succession.

Sunderland said the decision was made on player welfare grounds, given the volume of positive cases at the club.

The Wearsiders' next game is due to be against Northampton on 2 January.

As per the previous postponements, the English Football League will investigate the circumstances behind the call-off.

Sunderland told the EFL they would be unable to fulfil the fixture because of the recent positive coronavirus tests and the need for other players and staff to self-isolate.

Further information regarding a rescheduling of the game at Accrington will be made available "in due course".

Get the game off so that when we play we have new players and Barnsley have sold their best players.

Being serious, as passionate as I am for my club even I can see that some things are bigger than football. Covid is serious. Too risky.

Never thought I'd say this but I agree with my nemesis Animal, play the game when both teams are at their best (injuries and suspensions are part and parcel. Covid isnt.)

What if, out of the 5 positive tests our 3 keepers are in there.

Play it so we can say "the best team won."

The EFL will be desperate for the likes of Sunderland and Portsmouth to get back in the cship so every assistance given and their games are off. What a surprise. Amazing isn't it.
Let's face it they don't want us there hence the instructions to the refs to play on until the opposition score and we loose points .
Either that or There,s some bribes being accepted
It has to be one of the two

Really don’t think the season will finish pal. There’s another full lockdown on its way and football will cease again in my opinion.

Just need to stay out of bottom 3 if we can as it will probably be a average points per game situation again, this time throughout all the leagues.

Need to play at least 36 games before PPG come into play.
