Cam, can you do something about these cockneys, taffs, sweaty socks and yokels cluttering up OUR message board?

How can these people understand the passion us Rotherham folk have for the club?

Get rid of em man. Do your job.

    You are spot on.

    It's in Doncaster.

I will be honest all these places outside Rotherham, might as well be in Siberia for me.

I did get as far as Dinnington last year. Never liked Nottinghamshire though.

Obviously I don't live in Rotherham, Yorkshire or even the North any more. Left there for work, love and other pathetic reasons but you never forget who you owe your allegiance to. Let's face it, you don't support Rotherham unless you live there or come from there (unlike Surrey Man U supporters, for example) and I came from there a long time ago now. Couldn't go back there now, too nesh having got used to the balmy climate down here which is better for my arthritis in my advancing years.

Got to say my favourite Sunday lunch meat is lamb.....baaaaaaaa
I had a sort of similar shock, years ago when my Dad was still alive.

After a night out with my Mum and Dad, we were walking back home to Green Lane, from the 'tanic, I think.
The subject turned to Yorkshire heritage somehow and although my Mum and Dad are both local born ( I would have said Rotherham born but didn't quite fit IBS' criteria LOL) my Mum originally Thomas Street in Parkgate then Rawmarsh and my Dad was from Swinton.

It turned out only one of my four Grandparents were from Yorkshire let alone Rotherham, and that was my Mum's Mum from Parkgate.
Her Dad was from Birmingham I think but with a bit of a nomadic upbringing. I can't remember how he ended up in Rotherham.
My Dad then told me his Dad was from Hampshire and his Mum Lincolnshire.

A few years later I delved a bit deeper and it turned out my Dad's Dad was from Alton in Hampshire and came to lodgings in Swinton to work in the mines as a t eenager.
At the outbreak of WW1 he ended up in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and then the Machine Gun Corp who had a training camp in Grantham, where I assume, is the place he met my Gran, as she is from the outskirts of there. They both went to Swinton sometime after the war ended

As for me, Parkgate, Kimmy Park, Rawmarsh then a few years in Sheffield, back to Rawmarsh, Kilnhurst and then in 2004 went to Chinley on the edge of the High Peak and now just about to move to Buxton.

He’s lucky only 3 miles away and tier 3 compared to me in tier 4!
