No offence bu that's small thinking imo

Look at how our support has grown exponentially since we started winning trophies and success in Europe. Think bigger, a one club city would eventually attract even more fans, more season ticket revenue, more sponsorship, it's a no brainer in terms of long term security and success. Jim McLean knew this and the Marrs very nearly signed their club over to us. The new club would have been called Dundee United and played in Tangerine.
Maybe a debate for another day, a different thread.

I do give a fk though, it's stupidity to strengthen a rival club in your city mid season that could help them get promotion, those who wanted the fun promoted a few years ago back when apparently they were "10 years behind us" were naive mugs, you don't boost them in anyway, same division or not, that's a winners mentality, we want to remain on top in the city, you never see both clubs doing well in the top flight at same time, not for many decades now

Any other championship club id agree apart from our neighbours
Dundee being a rival club is irrelevant to me when they're signing players who aren't good enough for us in the first place. Let him go wherever the f*ck he wants and if they get up, so be it. Will I worry about him if they do get up? No, because he's not good enough for this level and I don't expect him to get any better than he is now.

And as for derbies not being great? Come on Stokey!! In a league full of absolute dross clubs, bringing almost zero fans for what is 'just another game', the derbies are easily the best games of the season. I'd happily have them up at the expense of a County or Hamilton. Hopefully they have McMullan if they do get up because we all know where his crosses are going to end up.

Say he does go and is used on the wing, i dont have a fear at all. Say though that McMullan does go and is used as a link between Adam and Sow, there is a chance of a surprise. I doubt that either option has a chance in providing a big enough surprise to see the fun promoted.

We've been waiting and waiting and waiting for McMullan to be this consistent wide player and it has never materialised. People wanted him played through the middle and got their wish a few weeks ago. He was okay vs St. Johnstone then simply didn't turn up the following week against Hamilton. A constant in his career. One six week purple at the start of last season and that's it, from three and a half years service. I have absolutely no reason to think that is gonna change by dropping a division to play for a team that have worse players than he already plays with.

    Me too .100%

Winning 6-2 three or four times a season would improve our goal difference and top 6 chances no end.

Fwiw I was a big fan of mcmullan and thought we should kept on.

However we move on. I trust Micky M and Tony A to make these decisions.

Main interest is united and now he has signed elsewhere not great united having Mcmullan on books and it is waste of a wage if he is not playing.

I think he will do well at the Fun.

Also Adam is class above championship so that will help Mcmullan.

However my guess is that the fun won’t go up this year - hearts are already too good and far ahead for them.

The fun do have a chance in a play off if Adam still fit but we shouldn’t base our decisions on that

United have to act in own self interest here. Not good to have a cast out player at the training ground
