He’s funnier and more newsworthy than you or I, but, beyond that, how do you know what he thinks his views ‘deserve’.
It's cheap shot at someone, he knows is not in a position to retaliate publicly.

I sometimes wish that our politicians had the balls to answer back to these people and interviewers. Like publicly asking live on air, 'don't you feel guilty about being paid a small fortune for very little work, by poor pensioners?' or maybe they'd be prepared to give a majority of their earnings, to pay for a number of pensioners' TV licenses?

Graham Norton v Priti Patel...that I’d love to see, and remind me...when and under which Government did the ‘poor’ over 75’s start having to pay for these TV licences?

I do find it amazing how people who know nothing about a job, seem to think its "doing nothing" it seems to me that its either pure jealousy or they actually have no idea about what it takes to be successful in a public facing role.

These people command salaries because they are good at what they do, obviously the BBC has to pay something approaching the going rate otherwise they will go to other channels which they do. For a right wing Tory you seem blissfully ignorant of how the market works!

AS for Priti, dear me, your supporting a hard faced, proven bully who on todays showing is unable to answer simple questions that are within the brief that she holds! She couldn't even give a straight answer re the lockdown regulations FFS!

Dear me! Your sympathy for talentless. incompetent politicians is admirable, just a tad misguided, but perhaps shows that a Tory cat would gain your admiration.

Lets not forget, this the person who was sacked, for holding secret meetings with a foreign country behind her PM's back, who was found guilty of bullying behaviour and breaking the ministerial code, but not sacked by the pathetic lying wimp we have as a PM.

By the way just to be clear, Johnson has been sacked at least twice from his "jobs" for proven lying!

Save your sympathy for someone who deserves it.

As for the pensioners TV licences, oh please! Why the **** should they have free TV licences? Most are more than able to pay the small fee involved, and as rA points out it was this government who removed that perk!

You're always going to lose the Norton/Patel argument rA just based on economics. Lets say, for the sake of argument (and because, subjectively, its true) that they are both **** at their jobs, and for that matter would be **** at each others jobs. Both are paid for by you and I so should expect flak, lets forget that Norton can retaliate and Patel can't. The big difference is that the unfunny Norton is paid over TEN TIMES/£720,000pa more than the unpretty Preti does. That would pay for a lot of nurses (or to quote Jamie MacDonald, one enormous robotic one)

Just listening to a report on Newsnight about the EU vaccine sourcing and rollout, sounds like a bloody shambles to me and just lining the pockets of Big Pharma, and the useless end of Big Pharma too.

Meanwhile, news from my daily Spanish language newspaper:

Vaccination started in Spain a week ago, but critics in Madrid and Andalusia say it’s just not happening fast enough.

The Madrid Government has repeatedly complained that it hasn’t been allocated enough doses, 'at this rate only 10% of Madrid residents will be vaccinated by June 30'.

The Catalonia Health Department admitted that only 13% of the doses it received have been used!

Errrrrrrrm, you conviniently missed off, the BBC agreed to this in 2015, on the pretext that they could put up the license fee.
They did so, then did nothing to trim the operation, give out exhorbitant wages, then welch on it when the clock ran out. Even you can't blame the Tories for that.

Thats a specious argument generally used by people who are jealous about what other people earn! For a start Patel, doesn't just pick up her earnings as a cabinet minister, she has fingers in lots of pies and i doubt she will be short of money after leaving politics - I mean Grayling gets £100K a year from a gig with a company that runs some of the UK ports - not because she has a ****ing clue about ports, but because he has access to government.

Secondly, everybody's earnings are paid by you and me! I mean how many nurses etc. do you think the tax avoided by those who shift their businesses or themselves out of the UK? Not forgetting that many of these were ardent supporters of Brexit, telling the dumbass voters what a glorious future the UK had out of the EU, whilst busy shifting their operations out of the UK!

Your sympathy for Patel's position as a politician is bizarre, firstly, she chose to do the job, if you put yourself into the public eye, the you expect the flak, everything you say and do will be scrutinised and rightly so, so if you behave in a dishonourable fashion, if you make contentious statements and if clearly you are not on top of your brief, expect to get criticised.

Lastly Norton's salary is dwarfed by some of the money "earned" by CEO's bankers and others, many of whom were responsible in some part for the 2008 financial crash, which ****ed the UK economically and directly affected many thousands of people's lives. Many of these are still picking up those millions a year in salary and bonus's.

Your letting your dislike of Norton, colour your judgement and making unsound judgements - whereas if Norton wasn't popular with viewers, he wouldn't be on the TV and radio!

As ever you betray your BBC bashing prejudice here as well as if the BBC shouldn't be paying its artists who draw in good viewing figures the "going rate". As Norton has just picked up a lucrative gig with Virgin Radio clearly those in the media business think he is worth what they pay him.

Swale that was a total waste of effort as my comment was a bit of lightheartedness, Do RESEARCH instead of just going off on one, for instance research Jamie McDonald.
