Someone steeped in the history of Dundee United really needs to have a word with the current owner, preferably from within the club.I will excuse his naivety and that of his Sporting Director Tony Ashgar but these negative statements need to stop.
They obviously do not realise how damaging their statements are to fans who have backed the club to the hilt this season,in all my years following United i have put more into the club this year than i ever have in the past.
We have handed over millions in season ticket revenue, thousands to support Mark and the board with legal fees and other costs and hundred's more have joined the DUSF to pour yet more money into the club.
All this effort by the way with each and everyone of us aware that we will probably never be inside our second home to see a ball kicked this season and most of us telling the club,"Its ok just keep every penny we have given you,we don't want anything in return."
I was and still am very disappointed with the chairman asking the DUSF for more money last week although i did vote to accept his request, what Mark need's to realise is it was his decision to buy our club and although no one could have foreseen a pandemic thousands of businesses in Scotland have not had the support that we have given to his business and our team.
My club has featured in the written press and was dragged through the mud on national radio with ironically a club captain from across the road discussing our finances. If Mark Ogren is truly a millionaire which i have no reason to doubt he needs told that asking fans for yet more money when most of us are struggling is detrimental to the club he owns,it also leads to speculation and hope to many that wish us to fail,FACT with a WASC.

Having read my post back i stick by it 100% and could not give a flying phuck about the stick i will receive for it later today but to anyone who fails to get the gist,Mark Ogren by asking for a further cash injection from the DUSF has opened us up to speculation from the media and others that we are on the verge of collapse.
I really need to make this comparison although i know its embarrassing,in the week a Premiership chairman who's fans have poured in millions during a pandemic asks for more help a Championship club with a 27 game season and a fraction of our revenue managed to sign 3 players.

They were just given half a million pounds and don't need to pay it back.

I know that but they still have staff to pay and other running costs,we shifted over 5000 season tickets, have PPV money coming in and have prize money of between 1 and 1.5 million still to come.
My main point is,were the club in such a desperate state that only more money from the DUSF could save it?.The answer i believe is no as its a drop in the ocean.
There is no doubt though that many fans will be worried, the press have had a field day and the Funsters think we are joining them in the ADMIN club.

Wishful thinking from across the road. The money from DUSF is to help with the running costs. I have no doubt that even without this we wld survive, all be it on a shoe string. Any team in the funs position wld have bank the cash, gained a wee bit off interest and looked to the long term. They are not going to win the league and just maybe might make it through the playoffs. But and it is a big BUT if they don’t and crowds aren’t allowed in until near end of year! Then they cld well be teetering on the bring of Admin 3.

Yes your right mate we have been doon this path more than once in the past. Its still celebrated to this day by D C Thomson and the Whitehall in documentary and stage play format.
With the likes of Eric and others coming on here they are currently going through the smugness phase,i remember similar behaviour in the past with the Scott Robertson signing.

Can see partly where you are coming from. Why is him asking the dusf for money they have raised to help utd been all over the papers?Think it is just a way of dfc thompsons having a go at utd making out that a foundation giving the money it has raised to help a club to that club. Why is it not just kept between the two organisations? The way I got it money raised by the foundation was to help utd this is when they need the most help so don't understand why you don't want him to ask for their help just now?Hearts foundation has pumped millions in to help their club and have not see their foundation or club being slagged in the press for it.I f our own fans are thinking that utd getting money from the dusf is embarrassing then dfc thomsons are winning.Just a question what do you think dusf should do with the money they raise to help utd if not give it to utd to help them?

The championship club you talk of that is splashing the money in the middle of a pandemic has a history of money mismanagment and ripping of creditors,They don't even own their own home don't think they are an example we want to copy.
