This tells me the owner is more concerned about his pocket than the club. We must've freed up about £3500 a week in wages the last few weeks. He could do with looking at the bigger picture as we are in real danger of going straight back to where we've came from.

Disagree with this. What has Ogren ever done to indicate he isn't 100% committed to the club? We have a squad of around 24 players at the moment. It is already (most likely) over budget and MO is having to write a check every month to cover the losses we are already suffering. Adding another wage into the mix (although we'd all like to see it) can be seen as picking himself over the club.

We have more than enough to stay in this league. Don't lose our 2 games this week and we are still in a very comfortable position.

At the start of the season, 10th was the target for most. The minimum accepted. But as soon as there is a sniff of bad form it's 'Mellon Out' on social media and demanding we go and spunk money on players.

I'm not saying you specifically tHeArAb, I'm just ranting about fans attitude in general towards United at the moment.

4 years of hell in the Championship should have given people a bit of perspective in terms of where we are as a club. It will take time.

I get all that, I really do, but this group are in danger of having us drop out the division. A short term loan to give us that wee boost we need may just be the difference between staying up and going down.

Are they in danger though? Granted if we lose our next two games we can start to worry, but win the two games and we are probably safe as long as we get back to our old ways of grinding out draws with the occasional win. Nothing to suggest we cant do that. Fuchs back. Chalmers coming back. Look to have kept hold of Benji and Shankland.

Maybe I'm just a glass-half-full kind of person.

We are in danger if this form continues, yes. We may scrape it by a point or two if all teams around continue their own form but it's far too close for comfort for me. Granted a win or two this week would be massive. Equally, lose them both and it won't be looking good.

But that 3.5k may be a drop in the ocean to current losses with everything going on.

Of course if we continue this form we'll be struggling. But one thing about Mellon is that he's reacted to big moments in the season. After the Rangers/Killie pumpings, he brought in the back 3/5. Ironically, these pumpings came from us playing 4 at the back. And the same seems to have happened again.

I fully expect the 352 or 343 or 532 whatever you want to call it, to be back for the next 3 or 4 games at least. And I'm OK with that as we have some tough games on the horizon against teams close to us in the table.

I 100% agree with you though that if we do lose the 2 games this week, we are in a relegation battle. But a battle has to be won, and we are still in a strong position to avoid any danger of relegation, as long as we can get some wins on the board.

What I was meaning was, if we had no money before, we now have £3500 that we're now saving that could be used on a player or two. If god forbid we do go down I'm sure people will look at this window and question why we didn't push the boat out & sign anyone to help the cause. If we were safe I would fully understand not signing anyone but I'm fairly concerned at this moment in time. Let's just win tomorrow and ease the pressure. 🙂

Surely the guys who left wouldn't been bringing in as much as that?

McMullan - we will still be paying something on his loan
Smith- Can't imagine him being on much in the first place
    King- Probably same as McMullan

I do get we would have saved some sort of money from those players but i'm not sure it would be a great amount esp if we were wanting to bring in anyone of real quality.

The thing is, its the job of the professionals at the club (manager, coaches, sporting director etc) to decide if that money NEEDS to be spent this window. Or if it can be banked to increase the budget in the summer. The risk of going down is still relatively low, even though people seem to have decided that we are down...
