They are a very unpredictable team who on their day have beaten Hibs away and hammered the Sheep 4-1 at home.It should not be forgotten however that they have only won twice at home all season and even under Hughes their achilles heel is at the back, they have conceded 17 goals in 9 games since the new manager took over.
Both teams this season have scored 21 goals in 27 games but tellingly they have conceded 51 goals to our 38 that can be balanced with current form(Last 5) where they have picked up 6 points from 15 with 2 wins whereas we have 2/15 with no wins.
I would suggest the best way to go about this game would be just to go for it from the whistle but i'm not confident that Micky will share my view,if we can learn to defend set pieces and crosses we definitely have a chance,Hughes will instruct his team to fire in crosses at will and if we have learned lessons from the past 3 games there is an outside chance it could be a frustrating afternoon for the Staggies.
It would also be very helpful if Connolly and Fuchs are both available and i suspect Hughes will start the giant Jordan White up front.
Bought my PPV ticket already. I want to be seeing it when we finally change for the better. i just hope its tomorrow.

I'm an optimist although its been hard recently watching the torture **** that is the current performances. I hope fuchs is fit. I'd keep him and Butch in and dare i say it Pawlett deserves to stay in on the 2nd half performance midweek. I would drop Clark though and keep Sporle in.

And what the hell has happened to Chalmers? Robbie had his detractors (me included) but he often gave an update on injuries when he did an interview. I dont remember hearing that the lad would be out for several months? Several weeks i remember.

Played them twice, beaten them twice. Both times four at the back. I wouldn't be surprised to see Micky go with a back four for this one. I don't think he will, but given previous results against them, it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

Not surprised by this tbh. They way he went over his left knee after kicking that boy in the puss the other night. It really didn't look good.

Mellon's given regular updates on Chalmers mate. Back in full training yesterday. Now just needs fitness.

That's the spirit! Continue on from that 2nd half performance vs Motherwell and we give ourselves a great chance.

I was wavering to go for a battling 1-1, just preying melon gets his team right, Fuchs is fit, and the three up top don’t get shoe horned in, and we get a result that kick starts the season. You don’t have to play well to win btw, it’s about Winning football for us, I.e not conceding and taken any chances that come our way. Fingers crossed, assuming game on.

Assuming Fuchs is fit, I'd like to think we could give the guys who finished Wednesdays game another chance, however I can't forget how utterly woeful we were in the first half and the fact that the two times we've beaten County this season was with four at the back. I think I'll sit on the fence with a team selection today. 😂

One things for certain, Nicky Clark MUST NOT START IN MIDFIELD .

Big Game, hopefully MM doesn't much around with the lineup too much by playing guys in positions that don't suit them.

    Benji

Smith Edwards Reynolds (connolly if available) Robson

    Mcnulty Fuchs Butcher Pawlett Sporle

    Shankland

That was the team which looked better v well. Robson having protection infront of him with sporle who will also provide much needed width. McNulty looked better on the right hand side rather than the left where he has previously played so i would give him a shot there again. Pawlett needs to start imo. Ideally allowed to play higher up. Let him drive at players and make runs, If we get him in any sort of form he can be like a new signing for us. Butcher alongside Fuchs is a big area for us. Harkes can come in and do the work but quality on the ball will let him down so need Fuchs playing imo. Don't want to see clark, I like him but his form has been poor and i'm fed up of shoehorning the 3 strikers in when it clearly doesn't work.
