Well done Notts but also well done to the Hawks. On balance they were the better team and deserved to go thru.

Let's never speak of this match again.

Well we've scraped through to the next round, and whilst we've not made it easy for ourselves it's job done.

I wonder if they can extend the pitch by about 500 yards to allow for Turner's passes upfield. Anyway, a wins a win.

Poor performance by the fringe players. It was as though they’d never played on an artificial pitch before. Only matched by the cameraman!

Don't forget the commentator Stan. I thought he was going to cream his pants when it went to penalties..
Worth the money just to listen to him, (although a little biased )

    Really good win.

Created enough chances in the first half to win two games but stuck at it and although going behind we could have have had another two or three goals which wouldn’t have flattered us in the 2nd half.

Havent were very lucky with their first goal after a clear foul on our defender but it was disappointing to concede from a corner early on in the second. Years gone by or under other managers we would have gone on to lose that maybe 3-1 today.

Ardley made wholesale changes with personnel and formation and gave everyone he could a good run out to see if they could challenge for a first team spot. One or two managed it. Barnett looked decent, as did Wolfe, but Knowles was only ever on the fringes of the action. Sam was pretty ineffectual. Awful debut for the young lad being sent off.

Plenty of positives today and proves the team spirit is alive and strong throughout the squad. It also proves that we have some decent strength in depth and the players take what the manager says on board.

Always good to win a shootout too. A good afternoons work and a good game which the management will have learned a lot from 👍

With 5.5 for an average performance:
    6 for the goalscorers/penalty takers
    6 for Pilling
    5 for the rest
