agreed, but is it also a coincedence that we look better when Connolly is out again similar to when we leooked better last season. Even though hes been the better of him and Reynolds IMHO I just think we look a far more calm and settled side when hes not playing

We were so comfortable the last two weeks I don't think you should read much into it. Anyone could have played centre half with ease. Not anything to do with Connolly

Looking at the table now we are effectively 4 wins ahead of both 11th and 12th when you take goal difference into consideration and that is some gap with the number of games remaining.

Superb Result against a good team who were still on a high even after their defeat last week to st johnstone.

Could tell very early that it wasn't going to be a beautiful game in terms of getting the ball down and playing but our first goal was a well worked move. A decent cross for once from Robson and Sporle takes his goal brilliantly. We put them under pressure and looked dangerous. Livi did look as equally dangerous aswell. Pawlett getting sent off was very harsh! wondered if that would allow livi to start to dominate us. Harkes coming on for sporle had an instant impact. Some pass for Shankland. Could have maybe sneaked another goal before half time.
2nd half I expected A big response from livi but tbh it never really came. They had more of the ball but didn't create much and we always looked dangerous on the counter. The sending off for them is an embarrassment. Never a red. Shankland's goal then shows his quality and set us on our way to a fairly comfortable win.

Benji- Dealt with most well enough.
    Smith- Solid as usual
Edwards- Makes such a big difference. Great to see him do well after getting written off when he first signed (myself included)
Reynolds- no nonsense, few dodgy moments but generally decent.
Robson- Thought he was back to his old self.
Butcher- Solid, Matched Bartley for physicality and played some neat and tidy passes.
Fuchs- What a Engine! never stops running. Maybe not at his best on the ball but his workrate is incredible.
Pawlett- Looked up for it. Very harsh sending off.
Sporle- took his goal well and felt sorry he got sacrificed.
Appere- Worked himself into the ground. very good from him.
Shankland- back to his old self it seems. Quality.

Harkes- has his critics but i thought he was good when he came on. Great pass for the 2nd but he worked really hard and got stuck in.
McNulty- Didn't really do much when he came on.

Back to back wins for the first time this season at a crucial time is very important and can argubly secure our safety?! If MM sets us up with players in their preferred positions we will get better performances and thats what we've had in the last 2 games. Credit is due for MM. He made a decision after pawletts red and it worked out.

Last thing......... The referee's are woeful! shambles.

Great win, some great goals, some weird refereeing. I'm not a great fan of Connolly, but to be fair he was in good form before being left out team for personal reasons, but the balance is much better with Edwards and Reynolds a left footer. Thought Reynolds had a few dodgy moments, but balance much better. 2 good performances past 2 weeks from Butcher, but thought Fuchs struggled a bit second half and third goal was perfect opportunity to chuck Mochrie on for fresh legs. Shanks general play excellent and two quality finishes.

Fuchs didn't have a very good game today , but... he is a buzz-bomb, and midfielders hate that.

    Long may it continue .

Bit gutted i didnt see that today, and will be looking forward to the highlights tonight. Hope the penny has dropped and im sure people can see why there was so much frustration recently!

Just hope we keep the score down next week and we regroup for the week after.

Things that have happened to Dundee United since we were put in our place by the remaining establishment club's fans up the road.Mind now they said,
1 We were facing financial armageddon.

2 We were playing them in the Play Offs.

3 Our pitch and undersoil heating was not fit for purpose.

The Arab answers were delivered in a fortnight.

1 Being proactive the fans donate £100,000 to the club and we were offered an interest free £1,600,000 loan.

2 We beat Ross County away,Livingston at home, keep 2 clean sheets and LOA scores 3.

3 We manage to get a game on despite the pitch having almost a foot of snow on it.

4 During this period the Dees scrape a draw in Arbroath, are trounced by Raith Rovers and Dens is unplayable for four games on the bounce.

I love it when this board is visited by the football, financial and gardening experts from across the road as all our problems just seem to fall away like sna aff a dyke,FACT.
