I hate being critical of players but I think I’ve seen enough of Sam to make a judgement regardless of adjustment time to English football. If I was the owners/Ardley I would be hell bent on looking for a goal scoring forward whatever the cost.

Hard to judge. He hasn't really had enough game time yet in all fairness. When he was starting a bit more regularly he looked pretty good. Think he's probably a bit of a mard-arse and doesn't like being on the bench but who knows?

Some good some bad in this years transfers but I'm not convinced this team is any better than last year, if as good?

I know you will hate it, but maybe you should start being critical of the man in charge aka Ardley

As I said I probably don’t believe Ardley has the xfactor, it’s not a gag but u need a shining star. In the case of the Munto season Coterill wasn’t it, it was Hughes, a player we dreaded signing but almost single handed dragged a very really good side to the top with ease. Now we are in the same position again, stuttering, I agree with you something needs to change to push on and win this league, but it’s really hard to change now.

A few comments from Chessie fans on the Notts live stream:

"I personally thought the Notts stream was very good.

Good commentary supplied by Radio Nottingham, very balanced and impartial, good replays of key moments".

"That is definitely the best coverage and commentary team so far, although the Daggers commentary team ran them close.

I loved the Iffy Effiong passage of play when Mark Stallard said ‘that wasn’t his proudest 10 seconds’".

"If there was one criticism and its a minor one , its that they cut to another camera at times to early, but by far the best away stream this season".

Would much prefer it if those comments were about the Notts team ie Notts were first to the ball, neat incisive exchanges, played as if their lives depended on it, creative in midfield, moved the ball with pace and were clinical with their finishing.

Sadly all of those attributes were lacking yesterday. A very poor day at the office but it has been coming as teams can’t continue to win if performances are not sharp enough. Hopefully, Tuesday gives them the opportunity to put things right and get back on track. This league is there to be won by whichever team imposes themselves best.

Interesting, without doubt Hughes had the x factor , but cotterill showed excellent management of the squad that was available,
