McInnes has to take some of the blame but us having only 1 trophy in 26 years isn’t all down to him.

We were turned into a diddy club long before he turned up.

Obviously he’s not to blame for the years before he arrived. But there’s no doubt in my mind that he should have achieved much more with the players and budget he’s had at his disposal. Especially given he only effectively only had 1 team to beat for the first 5 years of his tenure.

Nah min, that’s not the way to look at it.

The farmers are a well run club. Always lived within their means and have never cheated by financially doping and spending money they never had - unlike many others, not least their opponents today who have been in admin twice, including after winning their one league cup trophy about 20 years ago.

The good guys won today. All right minded fitba fans should be happy with that. Well done and good luck to them.

As others have said though, that makes St Johnstone a more successful club than us during McInnes 8 years in charge. Embarrassing.

They also won fuuck all when he was their manager - apart fae the record for longest goalless streak - coincidence?

They are also a more successful club than us since at least 1995 - if not 1990 given a Scottish cup win is worth more than a league cup.

31 years. St Johnstone. Just let that sink in for a minute.

    Careful what you wish for?

Give me Geoff Brown over that fuuckin clueless gype Milne for a start.

What an embarrassing stat that is. Indefensible.

Yeah he definitely should have won more trophies.

I thought he would after he won the league cup in 2014 but since then we have went back to a team who bottle it in the cup competitions, just like we did before he arrived.

I doubt he would be able to given that it would be his team that took him there. He must have inherited a decent team at St Johnstone for that division for him to be able to win it.

Aye , that cup final today just hammers home what most of us have known for a long time now . McInnes is well and truly past his sell by date and even his biggest fans must be finding it hard to deny that now . I’m so bored with the fitba now I don’t even know what the current form is but I think it’s probably about one win in the last 8 games , add to that the record breaking goal drought ( again due to lack of interest, is that a club record or a league record?) and now the fact that St Johnstone have won more silverware since he left them then he has in his time with us . We have been disillusioned over the year and have got stability mixed up with success. DM will give you stability but he’s too negative to ever bring a sustained period of success to any club ....and by success I mean regularly winning competitions.

Did you watch the game today?

McInnes time is up but it’s not down to the fact the football is boring it’s down to the fact he is never going to win another trophy with us.

The football was boring under Calderwood,McGhee,Brown and is under McInnes.

Anyone who thinks it will be more entertaining under the next manager will be hugely disappointed.
