We all have specialisms that we know a lot about. In all honesty I know nothing about politics but a bit about business and good bit about the industry I work in. I argue and talk nonsense about politics to try to learn from others. I state facts about business and industry to try to pass on knowledge.

When it comes to history I'm better just shutting up - don't know and don't care, more interested in the here and now and the future.

I know loads of stuff about nothing in particular.

I liked history......I liked the history teachers we had....story tellers really.....and ahh **** likes a guid tale.

Used to be a wee bit of a running battle between modern studies dept and history dept at my school.....the history teacher had nae time for the main modern studies guy and when he heard another pupil bumming up the modern studies teacher he said "ask him what his degrees in.....it's no ****ing modern studies"😁......gobsmacked pupil, class in stitches.

Probably a lifetime ban from teaching now.

Sorry Taintedice I think you are mixing up the allegations made in fictional programmes like The Crown about Edward VIII and his marriage to Mrs Simpson during the mid 1930's. Thats when the Nazi issue arose. The monarchy have not had real power for a very long time. When James VI was invited to become monarch of the United Kingdom in 1707 he was invited to do so by the Westminster Parliament which had been United, hate that description, in 1603..I tried to find a date when the absolute monarch was amended to create the system we currently have.
Yes, should have done some research. Edward was the Nazi King not George. Obviously Kings and Queens haven't had any power since Henry VIII, Queen Victoria just sat in her parlour and knitted all day James VI was in 1603, Union of the Crowns, and wielded substantial power. United Kingdom didn't exist till the early 1800s.

Are you glad of the help from bcram he was chiding me about using bad words that are not allowed on pravda, maybe we should block free speech on here as well

9000 sir ......lying as it was actually 8 and a bit

How many British soldiers died 1st day at the Somme.........silence.......I only told you Thursday.

19000 sunshine.......10000 more than your team gets......think about those numbers.....a full Dens Park of dead British soldiers.

Not exactly the history boys.....but enjoyable.
