I have tried to have chats with her about this but she doesn’t seem to worry. Any advice on how to get the message through without bringing the shutters down?
I’d probably find true life stuff on SKY etc about the many cases of women being killed on nights out.

The episode about Levi Bellfield is a good example of the ease at which a woman can be abducted and killed, sometimes in broad daylight as with Millie Dowler.

People either have awareness or they don’t, I was always on high alert when I was out as a younger bloke but being a non drinker helped I guess.

    I’m conflicted on this one.

The gathering was illegal for starters so by the letter of the law everyone should’ve been cautioned.

The Met Police then fell into a carefully placed trap by handling it so badly but this is no surprise.

Cressida D I c k the commissioner is so clearly way out of her depth in that job, another box ticking exercise giving it to her in the first place.

The woman pushed out in front of the cameras to explain the debacle whilst she hid under her desk was utterly inept. She was so bad that she had to read off a crib sheet!

I think that this poor girls murder was just an excuse for many who were there last night, I’d wager plenty that a lot of the crowd, especially the one’s at the front, are the professional protester type.

The ginger haired girl who was on the ground has taken to social media to announce another gathering in Parliament Square.......this is illegal and she should be arrested and charged.

My final point is about the whole mass gathering and collective grief mentality gripping our snowflake generation.

Did anyone even think to ask the girls parents whether they wanted this gathering?

If it were my daughter I would most certainly not want it and I’d say this strongly in the media if it were being mooted.

This lot are just grief stealers, they love wallowing in other people’s misery.

2000 people standing holding candles won’t mean a jot to the psychopath planning to r a p e or murder a woman, do these people not understand that killers and rap I s t s don’t function in the empathy part of the brain.......stuff like this doesn’t make them stop and think.

The girls death is a heinous crime committed by a psychopathic, narcissistic monster of this there’s no doubt.

I said to my wife about how angry this crime made me feel and how sad I felt for the family BUT........grief is for those who knew and loved her, not for those grief stealers and the people looking for a cause celebre who attended last night!

Another thing the Americans get right - execution! I would put this c unt in the old sparky chair and then let him fry!! Same for Ian c unt Huntley who has just had the vaccine in Durham prison - I would have loaded the syringe with deadly poison and watched his eyes roll before he flopped. As it is - both will get better grub and warmth than many of our pensioners! Disgusting!

She has a place a Swansea Al to study Law, I know the area fairly well as the family have a cottage towards Brecon, she is a sensible girl but quite young for her age, as you say it’s drinks and what someone might put in them that worries me!

A family member went to Swansea Dave and really rated it! You can only let her know never to leave a drink unattended and never go alone with a male unless known to her. Say it in a joking out of context way so she does not feel you are getting heavy! My daughter went to Birmingham uni and my son Newcastle and both done well.

She will have a great time Dave!

Thanks Al, think you are right about trying to get the message over in a non pushy way, if I try and push she will close up and not take it in.

How right you are. Living in Leicester we get the East Midland News and they showed images of the vigil in the centre of Nottingham. What a difference! Took place during daytime hours so no flashing lights, crowds gathered in the main square stood in silence and socially distanced. I don't know if I was unobservant but I don't think that I saw a ploliceman. There was no need. Yes, it was an illegal
gathering but obviously the police were allowed to use their discretion because of the crowds' behaviour. Compare that to he scenes in London. It was a disgrace, and I'm not referring to the police!

I still don’t get why total strangers feel the need to stand in massed crowds with a candle for someone they’ve never met..

It all started here when Princess Dianna died and it’s got progressively worse.

It’s like taking the knee, in another ten years you’ll have people outside your door screaming filth at you for not attending this sort of mass mourning.

People are so f u c k I n g lightweight these days, they have to have a cause or movement to hang onto.

It didn’t do John Lennon much good lying in a bed in public 50 years ago and singing “Give Peace A Chance” did it!?
