You know you’re in cap doffing territory when someone is referring to themselves as “one”.

Just please forgive me for breathing the same oxygen as I bow and scrape in reverse away from such exalted company 🥱

You're quite correct 123, they usually use the Daily Star to wipe their arse with!

I buy a daily newspaper, the ‘i’, I particularly like the puzzles. It’s become a lockdown activity, doing puzzles, crossword, minesweeper, word wheel, word ladder, zygolex and the weekend edition has Mensa brainteasers! Oh, this thread was about the BBC, wasn’t it? Well, that organisation is somewhat PC, isn’t it? Still, there’s always Dave, to get some of the old stuff.

Quite frankly Regis, your opinion is worth “Jack S h I t” as is mine OR both are completely valid.......you can’t have things one way just because it’s suits your narrative.

It annoys me when I get labelled politically considering I’ve voted Labour at least twice and Lib and Lib Democrat a couple of times as well.

I’m a “down the middle guy” and centre right Labour or centre left Tory.

    I dislike extremes.

    I’m a Libra!
I don’t share the same view Mick, that those educated at Uni level are left wing. I don’t think you can even label them with anything. Naturally, those that have been to uni just have a good conscience. Its mainly because of the benefits of going to uni, one being it broadens your horizons and allows you meet people of all walks of life from all over the UK/World. Those that have not been to uni may not have experienced this.

As you point out you are a Libra, you must then be very indecisive and gullible? These are a typical Libra traits. So I can see why you don’t do extremes but fall for media bait? Just genuinely asking Mick.

From a personal point of view I was the son of a policeman, attended the local grammar school and then a teacher training college, as it was referred to then. So what should that make me politically? I haven't a clue, nor has anyone one else. I suppose that I had a half decent education and therefore, according to some on here, I should be reasonably intelligent and lean to the left. Somehow I must have been indoctrinated by those who had a lesser education who were influenced by the Daily Mail and voted Tory. Absolute rubbish!
I think my comment was probably a little unfair LB and it wasn’t to tarnish everyone on this board the same way. I’m actually suprised by those who have reacted to it, as I wouldn’t say it was all of them (including yourself) that I was referring to.

One point i’m going to make is this.. those who voted for Brexit and saying how glad we are out. They are also glad, because of what EU are doing right now with the vaccines. Btw, I’ll point out I don’t like this saga going on at the moment and Macron has proven to be an absolute crunt for making those remarks early on.
Anyway, the brexiteers still hang on to this ‘i’m glad we left’ despite it being made clear how trade is being hampered for both imports and exports. Their answer? ‘Oh we can trade with the rest of the world’. This is where education comes in and how daft it is to make a statement like that. So, trade with the rest of the world? That’s easy isn’t it considering they are on our doorstep😴.
Well we then are faced with competing with other major players (US, China etc) and what chance do we have there? We already had a market which was protected and can trade freely with.

The average brexiter will not be able to comprehend the above trading impacts, because they are unlikely to be educated enough to see the facts from the lies mentioned during the leave campaign. That famous slogan on that bus comes to mind.

“Indecisive and gullible” are probably the last two traits in my nature.

Libra’s are renowned for being even handed and fair and liking things to be down the middle and balanced ( as per the scales ) and to not like injustice, those are a much better description of me personally.

I no longer watch the news and I don’t have a newspaper, I stopped having one years ago.

I might hear the odd story if the wife is watching it but I myself gave up on the news on TV a few months ago now.

Returning to the original thread regarding the BBC, I understand that Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty have been criticised for sneering at the fact that Robert Jenrick, the Culture Secretary, had a Union Jack flag in the background when being interviewed on the 'Breakfast' programme. He told the Telegraph that the BBC need to respect more the values that the UK stand for. Their behaviour doesn't surprise me as that supercilious Munchetty woman has previous for this type of behaviour. They won't be challenged over it though!
